Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway Warrnambool is already looking forward to the 2013-2014 racing season with the announcement this week of a racing calendar that is full of exciting events.

Naturally there is a lot of interest and anticipation surrounding the first three night version of the Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, which will be the 42nd staging of this famed event.

The season will kick off with a Day Show featuring a Junior Sedan feature for the Yeoman Williams Memorial, Wingless Sprints, Street Stocks, Formula 500’s and Open ASCF Sedans.

The Day Show will see public gates open at 11.00am with racing getting underway from midday. General Admission prices will be Adults and Concession $10.00 with Children 15 and Under admitted for free. Usual pit entry fees apply.

Following the Day Show the Sprintcars will hit the Sungold Stadium high banks for the first time in the new season on Saturday November 30, 2013, with a round of the SRA Sprintcar Series which will also double as round one of the Premier Speedway Sprintcar track championship.

Joining what promises to be a large field of Sprintcars on the program will be the Junior Sedans whom will contest their Neville Pike Cup feature event and the Late Models who will enjoy their first visit to Premier Speedway.

All of the action will be presented by Ace Radio 3YB and Coast FM.

Public admission will be Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with kids 5 and under admitted free of charge. The usual pit charges and rules apply with the public gates opening at 4.00pm.

December 21, 2013 is the third meeting of the season at Sungold Stadium when the big pre-Christmas SRA Sprintcars Twin Feature night takes centre stage. Over the past couple of seasons this event has grown in stature drawing high class fields of more than 50 cars! The twin feature night will double as round two of the Sprintcar Track Championship.

Joining the Sprintcars on the program will be the Formula 500’s whom will contest the time honored Jack Willsher Cup, which is one of the Blue Ribbon events on the Formula 500 calendar.

Proud supporters of Premier Speedway, Warrnambool Rapid Mix Concrete, will be the Naming Rights supporters of the Twin Feature night.

Public admission will be Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with kids 5 and under admitted free of charge. The usual pit charges and rules apply with the public gates opening at 4.00pm.

New Years Day will once again see World Series Sprintcars on show at Sungold Stadium as presented by Fresha Fruit Juice.

With interest high from potential contracted teams and a number of hard charging locals keen to mix it up with the big names of the sport, the finale to WSS Speedweek and round three of the Track Championship promises to be one of the show case events of the season.

The Formula 500’s return, this time to contest round 3 of their 20th annual Speedweek Series.

Public admission will be Adults $30.00, Concession $25.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with kids 5 and under admitted free of charge. The usual pit charges and rules apply with the public gates opening at 3.00pm, with the usual pre-race World Series Sprintcars Pit Party to be held between 3 and 4pm.

A quick turnaround will see the gates thrown open again on Sunday January 5, 2014 for the Open Wheel Mayhem Night which in 2014 will see kids admitted to the venue free when accompanied by a full paying Adult.

The event will feature the grand finale of the 20th Annual Formula 500 Speedweek Series is contested at Premier Speedway on a night that showcases three open wheel divisions!

The Speedcars will battle it out for the prestigious Victorian Title while the Super Rods will make their first appearance of the season at Warrnambool.

Public admission will be Adults $20.00, Concession $20.00, Children 15 and Under will be admitted for Free when accompanied by an adult. Unaccompanied children entering the venue will be charged the usual admission fee (12-15 $10.00, 6-11 $5.00).

The usual pit charges and rules apply with the public gates opening at 4.00pm.

From there all attention turns to the 42nd Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic on Friday January 24, Saturday January 25 and Sunday January 26, 2014.

In a step back in time, the Super Rods have been invited to provide support racing on the opening two nights of the Classic, which under a new format will be an exciting weekend of racing.

Single night and Event ticket options will be available, with the Event ticket available only via the Club’s on-line pre-purchased ticketing system. An Event ticket will be sold at a reduced fee as compared to the three individual nightly tickets.

The Premier Speedway Club is currently putting the finishing touches on all things related to the Classic, with some big announcements due shortly.

The Classic will also carry track championship points and will carry corporate support from not only Lucas Oil but also KRE Race Engines, Oval Express Magazine and the Lady Bay Resort.

After the dust settles following the Classic the second Victorian Title of the season to be contested at Premier Speedway will hit the track on Saturday February 22, 2014 in the form of the Victorian Wingless Sprint Title.

Joining the wild and wingless crew will be the Modified Production division as they contest the ‘Traders Derby’ with no doubt all and sundry keen to enter the record books as a 30 lap feature time as held by Henry Fenton of 10:34.60 and set in 1974 goes on the line.

Saturday March 22, 2014 will see round 5 of the Sprintcar track Championship contested as the grand final of the SRA Sprintcars Series again is welcomed to Warrnambool.

With another large contingent of Sprintcars expected for this championship defining night of racing, the Sprintcar racing will be adequately supported by the Street Stocks as they battle it out in the ‘Go Switch Go” feature event, which will see 20 laps of the final run in one direction before the final 20 laps are contested in the opposite direction!

Public admission will be Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with kids 5 and under admitted free of charge. The usual pit charges and rules apply with the public gates opening at 4.00pm.

The Speedcars and Wingless Sprints will return to Premier Speedway for the final time in the 2013-14 season on Saturday April 5 with the Speedcars contesting a round of their Lucas Oil Southern Speedcar Tour and the Wingless Sprints also contesting a round of their domestic Victorian series which will also double as the DC Cup as Des Couch’s 25 lap record as set in 1971 goes on the line!

Joining the Speedcars and Wingless Sprints on the program will be the V8 Dirt Modified’s whom make a welcome return to Warrnambool.

Public admission will be Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with kids 5 and under admitted free of charge. The usual pit charges and rules apply with the public gates opening at 4.00pm.

The final meeting of the season will be the time honored Easter Sprintcar Trail which is set down for decision on Sunday April 20, 2014.

On the back on an amazing Easter Trail in 2013, the Super Rods will return for their Super Rod Cup while Profire Pyrotechnics will be out to upstage their 2013 performance with the traditional season closing fireworks display!

With seasonal memberships, seasons passes, grandstand and terrace seating re-newals to be offered very shortly, it is anticipated that on-line ticketing options will be available to the general public for all race meetings including the 42nd Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, by early November.
