Sungold Stadium Set To Rock In 2010-11

As many as ten nights of Sprintcar Racing, highlight an expanded Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool racing calendar ahead of what promises to be a thrilling 2010-11 season.
The headline acts will no doubt be the 39th Standard Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic and the Lucas Oils 49th Australian Sprintcar Championship which will both be contested within a week of one another in late January.
Add to the mix World Series Sprintcars, The National Super Sedan Series, The Easter Sprintcar Trail, a round of the All-Star 360 Sprintcars and multiple rounds of the SRA’s Eureka Garages and Sheds Series plus some massive support acts then there is little doubt that Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool is going to be the place to be this speedway season.
In addition to all the main event action, attracting equal billing will be multiple rounds of the Oval Express Series for Formula 500’s, Wingless Sprints, the Super Rod Cup, the time honoured Jack Willsher Cup and Stampede Series rounds for the Formula 500’s in addition to a round of the Action Series for AMCA’s and the appetite of most race fans must surely be whet.
The season will once again kick off on Sunday November 14, 2010 with the customary Day Show.
This popular Sunday fixture will see the gates open from 11.00am with Adult admission being just $10.00 with children under 16 admitted for Free.
The classes in action will be Wingless Sprints, Compact Speedcars, Formula 500’s, Street Stocks, Juniors, Vintage Sprintcars, Heavy Hot Rods and Limited Sportsman.
Discounted Pit admission will also apply.
The lights surrounding the famed Warrnambool high banks will then be flicked on as Warrnambool welcomes the All-Star 360 Sprintcars to Sungold Stadium for the opening night meeting of the season on Saturday November 27, 2010.
Joining all the of the very finest 360 pilots from right around Australia, will be a top notch field of Junior Sedans, as they contest the highly sought after Neville Pike Cup with the V8 Dirt Modifieds also making a welcome return after an absence of two season’s.
Gates will open at 4.00pm with admission being Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket available for $60.00.
Once again the Management and Board of Premier Speedway Club has seen fit to provide race fans with somewhat of a pre-Christmas bonanza, as they stage a round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series, along with the Formula 500 Jack Willsher Cup on Saturday December 18, 2010 as proudly supported by Go-Traffic, the Traffic Management Specialsists.
Again admission prices will be Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket available for $60.00. Gates are set to open at 4.00pm.
From there it will be all eyes on January 1st as the New Year see’s Premier Speedway rock to the tones of a huge field of Sprintcars to contest the finale to World Series Sprintcars Speedweek.
In addition to all the on-track action of World Series Sprintcars and the quest for a very lucrative $10,000 pay day, the Oval Express Series for Formula 500’s will once again provide more than adequate entertainment as a pre-curser to bigger and better things later in the month.
January 1 admission prices will be Adults $30.00, Concession $25.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 while a family ticket will set you back just $70.00.
Gates will open at 3.00pm.
Just over a week later and the rumble of the legendary Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series will be back for more, as night number three of the Tri-City Challenge ascends upon Sungold Stadium.
Also sharing top billing on this spectacular Sunday Night of Speed will be the grand finale of the Formula 500 Oval Express Series, while the annual Super Rod Cup will no doubt provide plenty of on-track action as this unique class of Speedway again struts its stuff.
Again admission prices will be Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket available for $60.00. Gates are set to open at 4.00pm.
Following this event, it will be all eyes on the prize, as the best teams from right around Australia and the USA assemble in Warrnambool for the 39th running of the Standard Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic. In 2011 the Classic will be conducted on Saturday January 22 and Sunday January 23.
With 78 teams having contested the event in 2010, organizers are preparing for an even greater number of entrants for the 2011 version.
No matter what, this is the Blue Ribbon event in the calendar and is one not to be missed.
Two night tickets will be available for purchase, as will two night pit passes.
Nightly admission prices are night one: Adults $30.00, Concession $25.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket again available for $70.00.
Night two prices are: Adults $35.00, Concession $30.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket again available for $80.00.
Two night ticket prices are: Adults $60.00, Concession $50.00, Children 12-15 $20.00, Children 6-11 $10.00 with a Family Ticket again available for $140.00.
Gate will open to public at 2.00pm with all patrons asked to note the later opening time, so that more fans can enjoy the Fan Appreciation Day experience prior to gate opening.
Wednesday January 26 will again see the Sprintcars hit the track for the Opening Practice Night of the 2011 Lucas Oils Australian Sprintcar Championship as proudly supported by Simonds Homes.
Admission for the Practice Night will be Adults $10.00 with all children 15 and Under $5.00.
From there it will be Friday January 28, 2011 for Night One of competition in the 2011 Lucas Oils Australian Sprintcar Championship as proudly supported by Simonds Homes.
Two rounds of heats per car plus the traditional preliminary A-Main, this night of racing will make or break the Title hopes of a majority of the field. Again, don’t just pencil this date in – reach for the permanent marker because you are not going to want to miss a second of this.
Come Saturday all the stars in their cars will be back in the hope that they will be the driver who is rewarded for commitment, courage, speed and skill in his or her chosen profession with the coveted Australia 1.
Will James McFadden go back to back, will the hungry veterans such as Dumesny, Farr, Tatnell and Brazier be able to wrestle back the initiative from the hungry next generation…. The easiest way to find out is to be trackside at Warrnambool.
For both nights of racing the gates will be opened at 2.00pm.

As the limelight of the Lucas Oils Sprintcar Championship fades, the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series will blast back into action on Saturday February 26, 2011 with a massive Twin feature Night.
While the Sprintcars strut their stuff, they will be joined on centre stage by all the bump and run action of the Street Stock brigade, as they return to Warrnambool for another night of helter skelter action.
Again gates will open at 4.00pm with admission prices being Adults $25.00, Concession $20.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket available for $60.00.
The following weekend on March 5, 2011, the Premier Speedway Club will play host to a cluster of events. The Wingless Sprints hit the storied track for a round of their Victorian domestic series along with the AMCA Nationals, whom make a welcome return in a round of their Action Series and the Junior Sedans, who will embark on the challenge of becoming the custodian of the Kevin Yeoman and Bert Williams Memorial Trophy for 2011.
Gates will open at 4.00pm with racing getting underway from 5.00pm. Admission prices will be Adults $20.00, Concession $15.00, Children 12-15 $10.00, Children 6-11 $5.00 with a Family Ticket available for $50.00.
The Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series will then return to Warrnambool for an unprecedented third time, when the series Grand Final is conducted at Sungold Stadium.
Will John Vogels defend his series crown or will a new champion emerge? It will all go on the line over qualifying, two heats per car and a series of main events.
Joining the SRA’s top dogs on track will be the pocket rocket Formula 500’s as they contest a round of their Stampede Series.

Sunday April 10, 2011 will see the Club conduct the second of it’s Day Shows for the season. Again this popular Sunday fixture will see the gates open from 11.00am with Adult admission being just $10.00 with children under 16 admitted for Free.

The final event on the calendar for the 2010-11 season will again be the time honoured Easter Sprintcar Trail. This event needs no introduction to the broader Speedway community, with Sunday night April 24 seeing Sungold Stadium playing host to the finale of three nights of racing, which also includes Avalon Raceway on Good Friday and Borderline Raceway, Mt. Gambier on Easter Saturday night.
