Jason Johnson And T-mac All Set For Classic Tilt Monday, January 04, 2010 by Premier Speedway With just under two weeks remaining for drivers and teams to nominate for the 2010 Standard Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, a pair of American Superstars have added their names to the already 30 strong list of entries. Hot on the heals of an impressive Speedweek campaign Jason Johnson has confirmed his entry for the Classic in the USA47 car of Alan Haynes and the HM Racing Team. Johnson is a driver that certainly needs no introduction to Premier Speedway Race Fans, having been a regular visitor to the podium, especially during the gruelling Speedweek component of World Series Sprintcars. Johnson's nomination in the Haynes Merchanical and Labour Hire number 47 is another genuine contender come the 40 lap Classic final on Sunday January 24. With Johnson, joining the likes of fellow Americans Danny Smith, Lucas Wolfe and last Friday night's feature race winner Craig Dollansky in the field, along with Aussie hardchargers Kerry Madsen, Max Dumesny and defending Champion Brooke Tatnell, the Classic is rapidly becoming a mouth watering proposition. So when Terry McCarl confirms his entry into the event, the nomination list just continues to grow in stature. Back for a second tilt at the Classic with Victorian based car-owner Rod Matthews and the entire Matthew Joinery and Kitchen Centre team, McCarl will arguably be better armed in his quest for Classic glory. During the off-season Ballarat based Matthews purchased one of Terry McCarl's Big Game Tree Stands team cars direct from the USA, so it will a home coming of sorts for T-Mac when he jets back into Australia following his Chilli Bowl committments.
